Neon Bracelets

Have I told you yet that my latest obsession is neon jewelry? It might be one way to incorporate wishful warm weather fashion into this freezing cold Holland has had lately. I've kept myself busy staying in and crafting neon bracelets. The one day I left the house (besides to and from work) I went to the Sunday Market  and discovered Fauv and she had the perfect addition to my latest self-made neon bracelets. (Almost) Freezing my feet off last Sunday was well worth meeting the girl behind Fauv.nl.

Fauv.nl came to exist because of the passion for jewelry of a fashionable girl. Last year owner and collector Roxanne de Boom started her own web-shop, where she sells her own creations (see my bracelet above) and vintage jewelry thrifted from various trips to fashion cities. She has an eye for detail and adds the finishing touch to your outfit. Go ahead and visit her site.

Vday DIY ideas

I'm not the kind of person that is crazy about valentine's day, but when I see all the creative gift ideas on every website possible, I sort of get intrigued. Below are some easy and fun ideas to DIY for your valentine. Hope you like! XO
For your mom - Get a bar of chocolate and rewrap it with decorative paper, a sweet, personalized message and a ornament/keepsake.
For a friend - Put together a crafts starter kit. You can add anything really. For some one who would like to start making bracelets, get nice beads, chain, pliers etc. other kit ideas; for someone that starts scrapbooking, card making or sewing.
For your lover - Put together a movie night box. Start with a DVD of choice of course, Add sparkle to drink, and interactive dessert like sticks and marshmallows (to hold over a candle) or a mini chocolate fondue set.

DIY; Tory Burch inspired Scarf + Winter wonder snaps

Bonjour winter! We had a wonderful snowy weekend, right as we were about to give up on winter. I was supposed to travel to Brussels by train, due to the snow there were big delays and hardly any trains. I stayed in Amsterdam instead. A group of friends and I walked through the (Vondel) park at night, threw some snowballs, froze our fingers off and after went to a cafe and had hot tea. Sunday we walked some more and snapped some pics.

DIY Pom-Pom Scarf
All you need is a nice fabric and colorful pom-poms. I went for a wool-like fabric (winter-style) and contrasting yellow color. Simply seam the fabric and sew on the pom-poms, Et Voila! your own Tory Burch scarf. (I'm sure to make a spring edition too!)

Movie Night - Breakfast at Tiffany's

Following through with my new years resolution, I hosted a girls movie night. We watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, a classic by Truman Capote. Complete with a candy bar before the movie and a Mini-burger bar after. I had a wonderful time and want to thank my wonderful friends for coming. Below some more of that night's details.
Because a girls night isn't complete with out a cocktail and glitter
Prepping the drinks;
A splash of multi-fruit juice, splash of Vodka Peach, topped of with prosecco and a cumquat.

Before the movie started we got to fill up our own paper bag with caramel or salted popcorn, gummy bears and M&M's.
After the movie I set up the "Mini-Burger" bar, where you got to choose your own toppings and condiments

Opening; Saint Germain Concept Store - AIFW

Last weekend during Amsterdam International Fashion Week, I attended the opening of a concept store/gallery; "Saint Germain"
They had different designers showcasing their collections; Charlotte KanFilles a Papa, Roparosa, Monday March and Marloes Blaas, just to name a few.
Also a wonderful Photo exhibition by fashion photographer Violette Hoogakker. The Images are dreamy, "fairytail-esque". Taken in Amsterdam's very own butterfly garden at "De Hortus"
Awesome jewelry by Cristel Ball. She mixes materials, shapes and objects and creates one of a kind, bold, statement jewels.
