DIY: Lace Trim summer essentials

Hi lovely readers, I've been seeing the "lace shorts" and "lace trim shorts" and I've been liking it a lot. Now of course you can buy a pair, but wouldn't it be more fun to DIY? If you have an old pair of shorts all you need is some lace trimming, as easy as that. Besides the shorts, I altered a shirt and I am so excited about these items! What do you think? will you give it a shot as well? XO
The plain basics
Some lace...
Of course it's easiest if you have a machine, but you could do it by hand as well... I don't have the patience though :)
Et voila! cute new and one of a kind items for this summer!!

Outfit Inspiration; Lace Shorts

I love "The Lace Short" and It's actually very versatile. You don't need to stick to the "sweet innocent doll look". I created some different looks, in hopes to inspire :)
Which is your favorite? XO
Lace shorts; Ark 21P

Look 1. Hippy Chic
Pair the sweet lace shorts with a wide tank top in a neutral color, or even one with a funky image on it. With a leather, bead detailed small cross body and lace up leather sandals. accessorize with feather jewelry.
Top; H&M  6.95 3.95, Sandals; Steve Madden 69$ Cross body; Topshop 66$ Earrings; Urban Outfitters 29$

Look 2. Fashion Forward
Taking the color blocking and colored stripe trends into consideration. Pair the shorts with a color striped t-shirt. Take one of the colors from the t-shirt and use them as neutrals. The Wedge-heels give the outfit a playful, yet sophisticated feel and the clutch dresses it up. To top it off a chunky yet low key neckless.
Top; Topshop 66$, Heels; Steve Madden 129$ Clutch; Topshop $20 Neckless; Topshop 28$

Look 3. Weekend Casual
I think this look is easy to throw on, but yet so chic. If you have to run errands in the weekend and not knowing how your afternoon will end, this outfit will work. Throw on a knit sweater. Pair it with little lace-up wedge booties, and a long neckless with a nice pendant. The metallic carry all is perfect for the weekend and this outfit.

Outfit Post; Cobalt and Caramel

My outfit last Sunday, when we went to the vintage market. Of course it was a little chillier then I thought, but thankful for the sun.

I got this top at H&M, it's perfect for the summer. The top is wide and racerback, so there is a little peek-a-boo for the bra, I also got little bandeau bra tops in tribal/animal print to wear underneath.
Neckless is a souvenir from Cape Town, S.A.

Vintage market; Ijhallen Amsterdam - Treasures

Hey lovelies, those who follow me on twitter might know that last Sunday, I went to this huge vintage/flea market here in Amsterdam. With a ferry you get to Amsterdam North, there is an awesome piece of "deserted" terrain with with abandoned warehouses and a huge abandoned dock. In between all this, there is this awesome cafe called Noorderlicht. It's my favorite hang out for the summer, they often have live music and a campfire and pool-tables, just a wonderful laid back vibe. On this terrain they have festivals and the flea market. There was so much junk, like "why would people sell this cr*p?", but then with some luck there were also some treasures! August 7th is the last outside market, it's a great experience and maybe you'll find something nice too!
A little cafe bar in the middle of nowhere, relaxed vibe with self service, live music, pick nick tables and beach chairs.

This girl found a bison, and carried it on her back :)
My über stylish friend got these bamboo forks, there was a set of spoons as well, but someone snatched them from her
2 orchid pins and another vintage looking pin
I got this adorable decanter with a cactus on top and using it as a water pitcher, to make all day water drinking in the summer look caribbean chic :)
